THE ETERNAL RETURN

`The end of the world begins

at the end of each moment

and it is renewed again

in the rebirth

of the moment

that follows.

Some people believe

Nietzche may have referred to it

as the `Eternal Return`

but the German

term he used was Ewige Wiederkunft

which can be interpreted in various ways -

including `the everlasting prophesized return of Jesus Christ`.

That is not what people expect

from Nietzche

Perhaps Nietzche used "Ewige Wiederkunft"

to describe `the constantly recurring future`.

If so,

it could be a description

he applied to the concept

after deciphering

some ancient texts

on the subject.

Such speculation aside,

the future

is something

we will all encounter

as the present -

and then the past -

until we achieve nirvana,

which is assured ...

because it (nirvana) is `death`.
